What effect will a used syringe have on my cat?

my cat is diabetic, and i give him his insulin shots.
i had accidentally pricked myself and then administered his shot with the same syringe (i didn't have another one :-s). will this have any effect on him? i don't have any diseases or anything
Answers:
should be ok as long as you washed it off and there wasnt any blood it wouldnt have been sterile and definately dont do it again, but i wouldnt worry too much
it should be ok but i suggest you ring the vets to make sure of this.
Ideally, you should use a new needle every time, especially if it's been contaminated. I'm fairly sure that it's not going to hurt him at all, watch for abnormal behavior just in case, but don't worry about it.
doesn't matter
No, not a problem. The only thing that might have happened is that the needle would have been a little duller than usual. You're alright and you cat will be fine as well...:)
As long as you are healthy, it shouldn't be of any concern. You can always contact the vet, to double check, though. They'd know better than any of us!
Um you should call a vet and let him know what happened. I dont think any thing will happen to your cat but better safe then sorry.
as far as i know there is no cause for alarm. it isn't a practice i would continue. but think about it, would you like to use a syringe some one pricked themselves with and only washed?
Bleach it 3 times, then water 3 times, or get another syringe from your vet.
Don't worry. An insulin injection only goes into the cat's muscle or fat, not its blood vessels.

And there are no human diseases that can be conveyed to a cat in blood.
A used syring won't be much of a problem.. Although not recommended, some people do use a syringe 2x.

Do you hometest your cat's blood sugar? It's the only way to know if it is safe to give insulin as well as giving you the info to trat this correctly
What food do you feed? I have alot of experience with this if you would like to contact me
The only thing I would say is hope you sterilzed it. Just as you would for human. Keep an eye on the injection site for infection. Or if it makes you more comfortable call your vet:)
