If you want to check your cat for fleas, comb her with a flea comb. Then check the hair that is on the comb - if she has any fleas at all, you will see black flakes on the comb. These are fleas dirts (poos) and are the tell-tale sign that fleas are present. You're much more likely to find these than actual fleas, unless the infestation is really heavy.
