What does it mean when kitties nibble your fingers?

I just adopted a 6 month old kitten and she loves to just wrap her paws around my hand and nibble my fingers!

She's probably trying to play with you- but please don't encourage it. You should never use your hands to directly play with your cat (unless you are petting her). Using your hands directly when playing with your cat (i.e. continuing to let her bite you) lets her learn that it is ok for her to bite you.

Therefore, when she is older she will keep on doing this- and you'll get the full impact of it (i.e. rabbit kicks with the clawed back paws and so forth), or she may try this with a kid. Instead of letting her bite you- try using a toy in your hand that dangles that she can sink her teeth into, or something at the end of the string- to direct the attention away from your hands.
this is the way they play with each other she accepts you
it means you have a kitten, its what they do
thats all love. give em the bottle...

peace
She is probably trying to nurse. Kittens can nurse past six months of age if they are allowed to stay with their mothers that long, and for them nursing is not only a means to gain nutrients, but also a sign of affection and a way to calm themselves down when they are worried, sort of like using a security blanket. It is perfectly normal.
umm it mean the kitten like to suck on youre fingers cause maybe it just wanna you to play or want something to drink . my one cat does that too sometime . it s normal for pets doing that kind things. maybe you can try to gave foods or water to youre cat see what will does do .
lol my grown up cats still do that. it just means she's just playing with you. if she doesn't have other cats to play with, then she'll play with the next best thing, your hand. have fun!
she is looking for love........ her in ur lap n just love her.
its nothing to worry about, i think most cats do it, mine did, he just loved laying in your arms with his paws around your hand sucking your fingers. His now just over a year old and he still does it at times.
I think she's just playing, but now is the time to find a different way to play with her because she will be getting bigger and so will her teeth. Good cat manners do not include grabbing your hand and biting your fingers. Think about it -- don't encourage her or you'll be sorry later.
its instinct
she thinks its mommy
her nipples were a source of food and comfort to her so ahes associating your fingers with that memory
If the kitty is licking or sucking on your finger, that's not a problem. But if she is nibbling, that is something you don't want to encourage. Also, you shouldn't use your fingers as toys with a kitten, just use actual toys. Otherwise, kittens will grow up thinking it's acceptable to bite fingers. If a kitty accidentally did bite my finger, I'd get up and go away, so she learned not to play like that. Now, as adult cats, I have the most loving, playful, sweet animals you could want.and they'd never bite anyone!
