What do I do again...? It has to do with Cat Care?

Ok, you see my friend's cat is pregnant andI'm supposed to adopt one. What does a kitten need? Like the supplies I'm supposed to buy?
Answers:
-cat litter box
-cat litter
-bags for the litter box (easier to clean that way)
-cat brush
-cat/kitten soap(kittens get into everything)
-kitten food
-two bowls (one for water one for food)
- a mat to put the dishes on one with a lip just incase you have a messy kitty
-toys (ones that rattel, one he/she can bite, one on a stick)
-maybe a cat bed or just find an old blanket and put it in a pile on the floor
-collar and id (when he/she gets big enough)
-i wouldn't buy thoughs carpet covered things until you really know your kitten there not really worth it
-if you want your cat to be easy to bathe then i would get him wet (a bath) when you get him i did this to my cat and he LOVES water he plays in the sprinklers and in the rain
The kitten needs to be 8 weeks old before you get it, because if its not it may not be able to feed itself and go to the bathroom on its own.
So once the baby is 8 weeks you need a warm place for it to sleep, a litter bo, kitten food, a water bowl, toys, babyshampoo for bathing, and lots of love.
food and a litter box. Same as humans. Shelter Warmth and substanence. There are kiten foods. Also set up the litter box prior to the cats arrival and when you get it home put it down in the litter box and it will know where to go to relieve itself.
kittens need kitten food until they're 1 year old and it should be soft enough for them to chew they need toys cats love toys that rattle, have feathers or fur on them such as toy mice teaser toys and balls. they of course need a litter box and litter. try not to give the kitten milk or canned cat food it gives most cats diarrhea they also need a lot of love and attention cats r the best animals in the world. cats don't need much...but remember to get regular check-ups and shots as needed
A litter box, litter, food and water bowl, a blanket, toys, kitten food, and lots of love.
I would get two at the same time, if taken home as littermates, these little ones will grow together and keep each other company. Cats dont need pet shampoo, if you keep them healthy they keep themselves clean... I would suggest you get the sand type of kitty litter and keep it very clean. I would also suggest that as soon as these babies are 5/6 months old get them neutered/speyed. this usually stops them spraying (usually) and will stop the tom wandering or the female getting pregnant..

Kittens need high fat food, and Good Quality kitten bikkies... I also like to give them one meal of some sort of meat per second day...chicken necks (avail from most markets) are fantastic for them to chew on.. they have no bones and encourage kittens to strengthen their jaws.

Please do not feed your kitten milk...even 'pet milk' is not necessary for them.. a lot of cats are lactose intolerant and milk is not necessary for weaned kittens...

People spend hundreds of dollars on cat toys... my cats love a screwed up piece of tin foil or paper, a tent made out of newspaper, or a box on its side for them to hide in... a long piece of wool or string with a peg on the end hanging from a chair etc..
At http://www.littlebigcat.com Dr Jean Hovfe has some articles titled "Before You Get a Kitten" and "Base Camp - How to Prepare for you New Cat"

If you take TWO kittens you will never be sorry. Kittens really need siblings or another kitten for proper socialization. It makes life easier on them and you.
Good suggestions above. Also check out all the links on www.kittencare.com - it's a great website for raising kittens and they answer all kinds of questions.
Biggest things besides litter, food, scratching post - learn to trim the nails, feed it good healthy food (learn about ingredients), play with it often, and lots of love :-)
