What do you feed a four to five week old stray kitten?

Answers:
Well, it may be getting to the point of being able to digest small pieces of dry food, but it just depends on the cat and how long it has been seperated from the mother. I would suggest going to a pet store and buying a little kitten bottle and some powder to make some milk for it. While it may be getting to the point of being weened, it wouldn't hurt to give it milk a bit longer, it may still need the calcium and nutrients from it. Hope this helps, and maybe start offering it dry food. I have a 6 week old kitten and she has gotten to the point of dry food, but we still give her a bottle once or twice a day. Also, being as young as it is, it may or may not eat any type of canned foods yet. I know my kitten still won't touch it. Like I said before, it just depends on the cat. Hope this helps. Good luck with your kitty.
Definitely not cow's milk, despite all the cute stories.

At that age he should be eating some solids. Try some cat food thinned with a little water. You can also go to the pet store or to the vet's office and get some kitten formula, not as a main food, but as a supplement.

Most kittens are fine to be weaned by six weeks of age, so your kitten has a good chance of doing well. If you have any concerns, call your local humane society. They have _lots_ of experience dealing with stray kittens.
They have milk for kittens at the petstores. Dont give them regular milk. If you go to your local pet store you can just ask them and they will tell you what to buy. Good luck
try dry food first mixed with wet food. if that doesn't work, you may have to purchase a bottle and nursing milk. local pet stores will have that and more info. good luck, and don't give up on him/her!
Kitten formula would be best, and I'd offer wet kitten food thinned with the formula to see if she can handle more texture yet. Goat's Milk (canned, you'll find it near the condensed milk in the grocery store) could be given in a pinch if the pet store/vet's isn't open.

Watch carefully for dehydration, if kitten is not going potty on a regular basis get her to the vet!
Try giving the kitten powdered milk in a bowl if that doesn't work you'll have to go to a store that sells pet supplies (I mine at Wal Mart) and buy feeding bottles. If the kitten does not go potty in a cat pan what you need to do next is get an old rag and wipe the private parts, which resembles the mother's licking, which will have her urinate.

Good luck with the baby kitten.
try feeding it canned food if you can. if it won"t eat it try giving it milk replacement they sell it just about anywhere
Get some "KMR" from a pet store, you only need one can and you can get a lid that snaps on it to store it in the can in the fridge. You can warm a little bit of that up and mix it into a small can of kitten food and leave that out in a bowl for it for it. You could pour a tad of the formula on top of the mixture to get the kitten interested. Whatever the kitten doesn't eat, discard.
Well my mom, grandma, and I have raised a lot of stray kittens and we always just feed them kitten milk replacer! You can either feed it to them using a bottle or a syringe!
You can get it at walmart or anywhere that sells pet suplies. It really will help the kitty get back on its feet (paws LOL)
Then in about a week or two if you soak kitten chow in warm milk that will help and canned food works great too!

Good Luck!
week 4 KMR; solids 7 feedings per day 10 ml each, week 5 KMR; decrease KMR in solids 7 feedings per day 8 ml each, week 6 KMR in bowl; solids, week 7 Wean from KMR 3 feedings per day
