What age can you kittens out?

just wondering whats the right age to let kittens out for the first time ?
Answers:
To be honest, anything before 6 months old is risky, because most kittens can't be neutered/spayed until they are 6 months old - yet some can sexually mature a little quicker, which means there's a potential one or two months if you let them outside where your kitten could either get pregnant or make another cat pregnant.

At the very, very least, 3 months is the absolute youngest. This is because they will not have had their full course of injections until 12 weeks of age. They are not fully protected from disease until the second course. The first set is at 8 or 9 weeks, then the second set is at 12 weeks. After that, you should leave it at least two weeks before you let them out, to give time for the vaccinations to work.

Personally I don't think you should let your kittens out until they've been spayed or neutered.

Secondly, I don't actually think cats should be allowed to roam outside at all! It's far too dangerous in the modern world for cats. If you do decide to let them outside, please buy a cat fence and make sure they only stay in your garden.

Good luck with your kitties!

if its a girl, wait until they have been spayed!
Male or female, your kitten should always be neutered or spayed asap but as to letting it outside, feline leukemia and other feline aids type diseases, creul children and adults, cars, trucks and many other disasters such as dogs, poisons, etc should prohibit any cat owner from leting their cat out. Now if you meant what age can they be given away, the answer used to be thought to be 6 weeks but it has been found that they do better in health and habits if you wait until 8 weeks.
innoculate first..then about 12-14 weeks..but keep an eye on them.
Definately after they have been spayed or neutered!! It is crucial!!! If you don't you WILL have 20+ cats by next year! Trust me I know from experience. It's taken care of now but yeah, don't let it happen to you. Cat's should come with warning labels. After thats done leave the door open and let them hang out on the porch or around the open door until they feel comfortable (it could take days before they get comfortable). Just let them go out further and further over time. Call them in at nite tho because that's when the majority of bad things happen to kitties.
they can start going out at about 8 weeks, they will only want to go in the garden at first, i wouldnt let them sleep out yet until they are about 6 months old.xx
You have to make sure that they have had all their vaccinations first as you don't want them catching any nasty diseases. I started letting mine out at about 12 weeks of age, but only for 10-15 minutes at a time and totally supervised.

Once they were a bit older I let them out for longer periods of time and once they were 7 months old (and neutered) I had a cat flap fitted so that they could come and go as they please. They are now a year old and very well adjusted little people.
