ok so i have a 9month old neutered male tonk that i have decided needs a companion.
i can get his brother, another tonk from his same litter but he will cost 3.5 times as much as if i got a cat from a rescue shelter.
i found a nice female abyssinian mix that is1yr old
i found a female siamese mix that is 5months
and a male tonk mix that is 5 months
what will be the best companion for my little boy? he is friendly and playful but he is also very small i would not want a cat that will grow up to be a lot bigger and bully him. I dont have a lot of money to spend right now. Is it worth the extra expense to get his brother? or will he do just as well with one of the other cats i have found?
thanks!!!

I don't think he would get along any better with his brother than with any of the other kittens. That being said, I would go with one of the other kitties. Check out their personalities and see which one works best for you and your boy. Abyssinians are very active, Siamese are very vocal, and well, I'm sure you know what Tonks are like by now. It really shouldn't matter which one you get, just be sure to introduce them very slowly and give them time to work out their differences.
The money you save getting a rescue kitten could be used for future kitten expenses or even as an additional donation to your shelter to help other kittens that need homes.
I would go with one of the rescues if I were you. All of them sound great, so see what their temperaments are like and go with the one the you think will suit both of you the best. Good luck and thanks for giving a kitty a good home;^)
Since your tonk is 9 months old, he is probably as big as he's going to get. He'll fill out more, though. I'd probably try to get a small, young female from the shelter, but make sure the cat you get isn't much older. Abyssinians are beautiful, but extremely active. If active is what you think you need, this may be the one. Introduce them slowly and they will get along better. Be aware, though, that one cat has to be the "top cat" so they will eventually need to work that out for themselves.
